Admissions Process
Academic excellence, sisterhood and service are the hallmarks of an SVA education. If you are willing to work hard, to follow the guidance of teachers committed to your well-being, and to respect and care for others, then we hope that you will apply for our freshman class or one of a limited number of openings in the 10th, 11th or 12th grades.
General Criteria for Acceptance
Students accepted into the Freshman class:

Are recommended strongly by their elementary school principal

Have a grade point average of at least a C
-
Have a good attendance record
-
Have satisfactory standardized test scores
However, just as every SVA student is treated
as a unique individual, we look at every applicant, her elementary school record, and
her personal circumstances individually.

Applying to Saint Vincent Academy for admission to 9th grade in 2025-26
Step 1 - Explore
We recommend that you attend an Open House!
Step 2 - Test
The HSPT examinstation will be administered on November 07, 2025. The makeup examination will be administered on November 15, 2025.
SVA's code is 815.
Step 3 - Apply
December 09, 2025 is the deadline for submission of SVA application and Tuition Aid application, which must include your official elementary school records (grades, standardized test scores and attendance reports for grades 6, 7, 8). *To receive our application and brochure in Spanish, please email admissions@svanj.org
Step 4 - Decision
January 16, 2026: You will be informed by letter of our decision regarding your application.
Step 5 - Register
DATE TBT: On-site registration, with payment of $250 non-refundable registration fee, a copy of your birth certificate, Social Security card, and immunization record.
