Athletics and other after-school activities available to SVA students build on the lessons of character, self-discipline, commitment and responsibility that are a fundamental part of an SVA education.   Athletic opportunities in basketball, softball, volleyball, track and cross-country help students to develop:

- confidence, positive self-esteem and moral character

-the social skills to interact and cooperate effectively with others;

- self-discipline, sound work habits and perseverance;

- an understanding of commitment, responsibility and loyalty;

- an appreciation for health, physical conditioning and lifetime recreation.

 
Co-curricular activities include Animanga, Book Club, Campus Ministry, Cheerleading, Dance Club, Drama Club, Step Team, Ecology Club, Freshman Chorus, Forensics Club, Glee Club, Hand Bell Choir, International Club, Literary Magazine, Math Club, National Honor Society, Student Forum, Yearbook, and Peer Leadership.  These activities all help to enrich and extend students’ education, build leadership capability, and foster bonds of friendship across class levels.
